So tell me where do we go?
There is a burning that’s inside of my soul
And it shows we all want something more
Than just the simple life.

The main thing I learned from Dave tonight?
He can rap. If that’s what that Ke$ha cover was… HA.
Anyways…
Tonight was so much fun and I’m going to be DEAD tired in the morning, but it was so worth it. Dave was just amazing, his new music is beast and EVERYONE is going to enjoy it. Really. Also, I was pretty surprised that not only did he play “You’re making it come alive”, but he also played “I cannot Speak” (which I may, or may not have freaked out over) AND “Pleasure of you’re company”, along with all of his “Timepiece” music and a few covers that included a Ke$ha cover and some what of a Hot Chelle Rae Cover. He used “Tonight, Tonight” to sing about his new stage name. I’m hoping someone has it on video. It was pretty hilarious. Seeing him, always, puts the biggest smile on my face. Alright kids, I’m off to bed!

I had to erase some photos from my iPhone tonight because they were taking up so much room. I came across this one and got really nostalgic. I can’t believe it’s been almost 3 months since I took this at their last show as My Favorite Highway. I absolutely love this picture. Even though it sucks in reality, the beauty of it is all in the moment.

My Favorite Highway
Jammin’ Java, VA.
12/19/10
I was lucky enough to be in attendance to three out of the four of the final My Favorite Highway shows. I am not from Virginia so I was so excited to see what the Jammin’ Java venue was going to be like. I was a little iffy about the woman at the front ‘desk’ because she wasn’t so nice to me so right off the bat I thought, “Ugh, this is going to be a long night.” But as I walked toward the back of the venue I grew to like it more. It seemed so full of life. Standing while waiting for the band to play one of their final shows was just torturing, you’re wondering, “Are they going to play all of my favorite songs? Are they going to sound well? Am I going to cry?!” Well when My Favorite Highway stepped foot on stage it was an epic show from start to finish. This concert was unlike any I have been to. There was no openers, just the band and you. The first show had some technical difficulties (the mic broke) but David Cook never let a dull moment go by. My Favorite Highway played a pretty long set. I would say the song count was roughly around 15-25 songs. They played for about a hour and then met outside with their fans to take pictures, and they made sure everyone got to say hello.
My Favorite Highway will be missed greatly.
